Vassar Student Association Website

Web, vsa.vassar.edu

The Vassar Student Association serves, represents, and promotes the interests and welfare of the students. I began running the VSA's site in the Fall of 2008, following a year as an assistant. Each year I customized the site, originally designed by Slurve, to fit the needs, goals, and design taste of each administration; this often involved major design and code overhauls during the summers. The site runs on Drupal, while the VSA blog runs on a separate, yet visually identical, WordPress installation.

Various Advertisements and Posters

Print

The VSA also called upon my design experience for print projects, two examples of which are shown to the right. These designs advertised events during Vassar's 2011 Sesquicentennial Year. The first is an advertisement for the Class of 2011 All-School Gift fundraiser and ran in the January 27, 2011, issue of Vassar's student newspaper. The second is a poster advertising a student baking competition.

Both of these designs were seen by the College's administration and used elsewhere. The background of the Gift ad made it into a brochure for the All-School Gift, as did the 2011/150 logo. The image of Matthew Vassar standing next to a birthday cake was used on the Vassar.edu homepage and on large banners at Vassar Sesquicentennial events around the world.
